Chadd, the part that came out is the idle adjusting screw with shut-off detent. With this out of adjustment it may affect the fulcrum inside the pump which affects the engine torque. With the engine running at about 600 rpm. and the locknut loosened turn the screw head of the part in until the engine speeds up and then set it at the proper rpm. about 700. The shut-off detent should be OK unless the little pin that sticks out of the center has fallen into the pump. Try this adjustment and see what happens.
