Hi Paul, I would retorque the head and see if you still have the leakage after retorquing. Did you check for bubbles in the radiator with the engine running, before you pressurized the radiator? I had a GM engine that was leaking coolant into the oil and I had bubbles in the recovery tank. I thought it was a blown head gasket, when they magnfluxed the head they found the head to be cracked. This engine was never overheated. I got 3 heads from junkers and they were cracked too. Had to buy a new one "ouch". There's no reason for water to be around those gears that I can think of that's getting into the oil pan. You may have to reinstall the oil pan and check for bubbles in the radiator. The head may be cracked. Are you sure that doughnut seal on number 1 sleeve isn't leaking and running down? A cracked head will allow the coolant to contaminate the oil. Hal
