I have had good luck with a remanufactured head from value built. It was not perfect, but they made it right by me. Any H head will work, if you have to buy one, get a later model gas head. They have higher compression.

It looks like all Hs have the same block assembly(6937DFX). X5 means that it was originally set up for 5000 ft. altitude. If it has flat topped pistons, they may have been changed in the last 60 years.
