help ! Auxiliary control valve 674

I can not easily lower my front end loader slowly when pushed to lower it gos down real fast and is difficult to go slowly the loader has single acting rams so lowering is by gravity. It is linked to what looks like a factory fitted control valve just above the diff lock pedal ont the right.
I looked at the IT shop manuel and the valve is quite complex even if I take it to pieces I doublt if i know how to find the problem any one familiar with this please inform me. thank you
