I had one re-charged last spring by an older gentleman in Grand Island Ne. with a machine he had bought at an auction for fifty cents because nobody knew what it was. Before re-charging it,a pretty hefty effort was needed to pull a wrench from it.After re-charging it, it was very difficult to remove a wrench from it.I also learned that the IHC emblem (stamp) is on the north pole of the magnet, and that you should always remove what-ever is stuck to it from the south pole first. He had a small lathe set up to test magnetos and there was a noticable differance in the spark.
