Doug, we do spell a lot of things differently..some examples US Canada color colour program programme plow plough and the list could go on and on, I guess we had a more "English" affect on our written form of the language and more ressemble proper English only in the sense of form and style. One of my professors years ago said that "slang was the workhorse" of the language and so we get different sayings, different spellings and of course newly coined words and phrases to nomer new technology and idealism, I was reading a list of newly coined words for 2004...darned if I can remember any for discussion...G'bye...Good-bye...God be with you..Bye...language is still fun...Mike in Exeter Ontario
