The transmission is very similar to the Case-IH Magnums, but it is not a full powershift. Basically, you have two levers, one to shift the four ranges- high, medium, low, and reverse, and the other lever shifts the six speeds. 1 and 2 are located right across from each other, and you can powershift between them. If you want to shift to 3 or 4, you need to clutch, but the transmission is syncronized like a Deere, so you can shift on the move. Once in 3 and 4 you can powershift between them. Once again, you need to clutch to get to 5 and 6, but you can powershift between them. You also need to clutch to shift between ranges. When the Magnums came along, Case-IH just replaced the syncros with hydraulic clutch packs, and this transmission became a full powershift.
