I HAD this problem with my 87 Carivan with the 3.0 V6 engine. Had an American Bosch starter on it and same story you have. Went to my favorite junk yard and hooked up to a near new Nipondonzo starter. The spelling is close enough. Be shure to take your old one with you to match up. Wow do they ever make things spin better! They chirp when they run. All of the east cars have them and I have seen them on Japan John Deeres. Back a ways I put in a post on Interstate Optima batteries. Check it out. Had to do with batterie cables. These things really work! Jeffcat
