Hi Jon, I guess your temps were below zero this morning in NY. I had 4 above. I had a Wico mag that had a weak spark even with new points and condenser. I took it into where I worked and they installed it on a German made machine for testing mags. They said the coil was weak and picked a new coil from a box full under the bench. This guy started grinding on that coil to make it fit. I said won't that ruin that coil, he said if it does we have plenty more. What a difference with that new coil. After that, I removed the mag in the fall since I didn't use the tractor in the winter. When the Army went to all diesels they scrapped the mag tester. The M47 and M48's used 4 mags on those engines. The man that installed that coil had a son that took over my job when I retired and he has 42 years of service. He also has a 1937 Lincoln car that was owned by his late dad and it has the V12 engine. He had the engine redone at a machine shop in Baltimore 6 or 7 years ago. Have a Happy New Year, Hal
