I had that problem (worn worm & sector gear) on a Super H. It also had badly worn bushing under the sector gear. Solved both problems by slitting a new bushing shell before inserting it, then adding shim stock between the bushing bore and the bushing OD on the side away from the worm (left side of the tractor) to close up the bushing shell and offset the pivot shaft closer to the worm. Took some trial and error to get the right shim thinkness but managed to coax the sector gear about .030 closer to the worm which effectively took up the slop.

Another possibility: Look carefully at the wear on the sector gear. It MAY be possible to shim the pivot shaft thrust bearing (at the bottom of the pivot shaft) to move the sector gear lower in the gearbox and thus cause the worm to engage the upper (and hopefully unworn...) portion of the the sector gear teeth.
