Farmall 300 problem

Today I got a 300 running that I just purchased. The tractor had been sitting for 4-5 years (inside). On the good side it runs good and the T/A works, however there is a noise in the transmission. It makes a slight knocking noise. It sounds like it is coming from the front of the transmission between the rearend and the T/A. It stops when you push the clutch in and makes the noise when the clutch is out whether the tractor is in neutral or in gear. Does anyone have any idea as to the source of this noise and possible repair advice? Thanks in advance.
