Kenny: Just about every model IH ever built would have used that serial number at some point in production. As John suggested a photo would be good. Look in photo gallery here at YT, you may be able to compare models. Most models after 1954 started getting Rockford clutches thus a J appeared at end of serial. Go to casting codes, every major casting on tractor will have a casting code date. It's that series of numbers with what looks like round head, blade type screw cast between digets. It gives the month and day by number and year by letter. Y is 53, Z is 54, A is 55 and B is 56. V was not used so you can go both ways from numbers I have given. You will still have to figure out model from serial plate or photos. Photos are quite quick in gallery, you just type in model you wish to view, several pages of photos of that model will appear.
