If the 1086 is a late model tractor it will fit (you can turn the PTO shaft with the engine shut off or the control valve pushes in when the PTO is turned on). If the 1086 has the early type PTO the best way to put the PTO in to the 1586 is to take the rear cover and the PTO shafts out of the 1086 and put them onto the main body of the 1586. I have done a lot of these conversions
