I would also try all of your plug wires and double check them for spark. When I mean double check, I mean make sure that all of the boots are making contact and have not pulled away from the wire. In addition to that or after that, I would invest in a full tune up set. Points and condensor alone can make a tractor stop dead and it's an easy fix too.
