Been there done that!! Ted You already have the hard work done ( Clearing the deck). Might as well get her fixed. Its not that hard at all. if its a top gear it will be just cake. Bottom gear is more work but can still do easy. Once you get the gears out check them out, you may have to replace more than one. Put a add for gears on this site in the classifieds. You will get all kinds of RE's. Lots of 300/400 rears sitting out there. You will get all kinds of prices from $100 gear on down. I got 5 gears for my 400 for $100 total. A good book to get would be. IH Blue Ribbon Service manual. Form GSS-1063, Transmision 300 series. Call Bonder Books 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday at 503-684-2024. Its not really Bonder books. For some reason this site kills certain names that they feel compete with thier sales. Its Binder.
