Not too bad a job. However, you have to drain the transmission and the PTO assembly has to come off. You'll need a puller to remove the gear on the PTO shaft. If the shaft is broken, you may be able to drive the shaft out of the gear. However, You can't do that with the shaft in the housing, as the Woodruff (half moon) key prevents the shaft from going through the housing. While you are at it, might as well replace the PTO shaft seal---and you will need new gaskets.
