I was kind of thinking on this too. Could you remove the PTO seasonal disconnect insp plate. Push the disconnect forward, Then remove the pto shaft bearing cage bolts. Then some how move the bearing and the shaft forward enough to allow for the removal of the big nut holding the counter shaft in? I suppose if that could be done you could some how get the counter shaft to move rearward to allow for gear removal. That would be no fun!! Better idea if you couldn't actually split the tractor, would be to use 6 x 8 inch grade 8 bolts in place of the bolts that attach the clutch housing to the transmision. Then split the tractor the lenth of the bolts letting them support the units. That would give enough room to remove the pto shaft. Or atleast get enough room to get at the counter shaft. Maybe.....
