When Touch Control first appeared the recommended fluid was SAE 10, that was replaced with Touch Control fluid, which was replaced by HyTran. So, don't go any thinner. As Paul suggested change the fluid and clean the screen. If that doesn't work you have other problems, either pump or reservoir. I suppose you have the correct fluid level? The fluid can leak into the crankcase, in which case you need a new seal.
