That's what I meant. It takes a certain number of revolutions of the tach cable to put one hour on the guage. It will take longer than one hour of time on a stopwatch to put one hour on the guage with the engine running at say 500 RPM. With the engine running at rated speed, it will take one hour of time on a stopwatch to put one hour on the guage. I was just trying to explain to Paul how these mechanical driven hourmeters work, to understand that, you must accept the fact that they are not an accurate way of measuring the actual amount of hours the engine has run unless it is at rated speed.
