Ahh. this again.

Production numbers of each IH tractor made? Sure. We still trying to figure out WHICH tractors were made. We're up to over 600 models (been awhile since I've looked at the list). Heck, I'm not even sure about factories- try figuring out the Spanish factory.

Quiet when folks have been misquoting the books? When?

We don't have good numbers on the industrial side after 1948 that I now of. Some of the foreign operations, which really kicked in production in the 1950s, I've never seen good numbers for, especially France.

Here's some numbers to roll around:
1. The millionth Farmall was the Millionth Farmall, not IH tractor. Different number than total produced. There's been some major confusion about this, even at Case IH. However, the millionth Farmall number would only be affected by the Neuss numbers overseas, for which there are good numbers (living somewhere in my basement, from Etienne Gentil).

If memory serves correctly, the "Millionth" Farmall was produced in 1947, so for the sake of argument, we'll leave out the German tractors (production of the F-12G varients had been only a few thousand up to this point, but include the total Farmall A, B, BN production.

Farmall Regular, 135,048
F-30 29525
F-12 123441
F-20 154398
F-14 27401

Total US pre-1939 changeover (this is a rough figure) 469813

Total Farmall A, B, BN production-@218625
So there's a total of roughly 688,438.

Since in 1947, the H and M both had quite a ways to go, we have to use the yearly numbers: (With all these numbers, I'm using serial numbers, which isn't great, but in the data book, the 1939 numbers hadn't been found yet).
H through 1946-240641
M Throush 1946-122321

This actually puts the numbers up over 1,000,000. (1,051,400) I was using serial number subtraction throughout, and using the total A, AV, B, BN production for that number might be off. The year might have been 1946- it's early Sunday morning.

The foreign factories are a big kicker. Just doing some quickie numbers from Doncaster before 1970 (from Alan Condie's book, which was in the shelf in my bedroom) gives 243,887 (not including crawlers). With crawlers to 1925, the number hits 273,380. And Doncaster by this number hasn't started building some of the bogger production models it saw under IH. Neuss had bigger numbers than Doncaster in these years, as well.

Today's Featured Article - Memories of an IH Super A When I was ? up to 10, I worked on my Papaw's farm in Greeneville, TN every summer. As I grew older (7), it was the thrill of my day to ride or drive on the tractor. My Papaw had a 1954 IH Super A that he bought to replace a Cub. My Papaw raised "baccer" (tobacco) and corn with the Super A, but the fondest memory was of the sawmill. He owned a small sawmill for sawing "baccer" sticks. The Super A was the powerplant. When I was old enough (7 or 8), I would get up early and be dressed to ... [Read Article]
