Well I have to disagree with the statement that a ta will last as long as an engine. My 856 that has a ta needs one now and that will be at least the third one and its the original engine and still runs very well. The ta and clutch have been adjusted regularly and used properly and it has lasted 20 years and 4000 hours. I haven't decided if I will put the ta back in it or eliminate it. My other 856 had the ta taken out 15 years ago and there have only been a few times I missed it as it is a loader tractor, and it does shift much easier without the ta. Around here the sales I have been to one without the ta will bring just as much or more as one with, and I wouldn't discount one any because it didn't have a ta at least without one you know you're not going to shell out $ to put one in.
