I have spent some time, years ago, loading bales behind a 50T baler. They could bale a lot of hay. Ours had a Cub engine. It would make a longer bale if a wad went through just as it was about to tie, due to being slower greared than a pto model. The square brass shear pins cost about $.50 back then. Pulling the flywheel to replace it was a job in itself. Ours took a spell of breaking pins rapidly. In time we used a 27 cent lockwasher to take up the slack that was the real trouble all along. I hope this throws some light on the matter.
