W4 muffler and front

Does anyone have an opinion (+ or -) on mufflers from Mark's Parts? I noticed he has "original style" and "chrome". At $80 and $140 do they last longer than say a generic replacement? Also do they fit better as my generic leaks out along the header pipe at the bottom and is turning my hood black - no matter how much i tighten the clamp.

Also, what are the bolt holes for on the front of a W4 casting just below the handcrank hole? Cant find a pic of one with anything mounted there.
