I've heard tell of tractor drivers who would be watching behind the tractor while pulling a load, and not realizing that the front end was coming off the ground. Everything seemed normal enough, because the big rear wheels were still turning, etc., but by looking behind, there just wasn't enough sensory perceptions to allow the brain to tell the driver to let off.
