BillOH You can sheck the sector gear right in the tractor trun it all the way one way or the other run your little finger along the tooth and see how much groove is in it or clean the grease off good and look at it some get quite bad. It might not come of easily depends how good the tapper splines are. I have had to use a 16Lp slege with the nut reight the end of the shaft so not to damage the shaft and a 3 Lb hammer on the nut. Good lock
