I tried that a year or so ago before I saw your post for the first time. Obviously it will work, but not for me. I had so much pressure on those bolts, I was afraid I would break the casting. Tried several times over a period of days and gave up. I had very little shimmy anyway. I was just trying to fix potential trouble areas while I had it apart.
