The pipes coming out (one on the left and 2 on the right are standard 1/2 inch pipe nipples (3 inch, I think). After the pump is installed you screw the nipples in thru the side of the case. There should be a large felt washer under a steel washer that fits over the pipe and keeps dust out of the case. The washers are held in place by a spring held under L or cap fittings on the outside end of the pipe. These washers are not crucial, but I wouldn't plow or brush hog without them.
