The Kibbutz or communal farms of Israel did not lend themselves to taking care of equipment like the North American or European farmer. It is evident in the beat up tin work on most of these tractors. Its very simple, a farmer who owns his own tractor takes far better care of it than a worker on a commune, who has no ownership in the tractor an is only task oriented. I wonder what my tractors would look like if 75-100 different operators used them on a daily basis over a period of several years... just an observation, the same problems with machinery are evident in the communal farms of the former Soviet union. These Communal farms could never understand why a hundred men couldn't raise 100 times the food that one man could..a farmer on his own land ! Pretty simple the north American farmer was motivated and in a free market working for himself....they couldn't compete with the "American Dream" Just an observation.....Mike in Exeter Ontario
