Must have the D-239. If so, it's going to be almost impossible to find a block for less than $1500. Most of those German engines are still running. I think you already know what you've got to do- if you try to sell that tractor with a bad engine, you're going to lose more than $1500 on the deal. Might as well spend it on the block. Throw a $800 wide front from any 60, 06, 26, or 56 series Farmall under it, and you'll have a great tractor. Probably not worth parting out, there aren't many 544 Farmalls out there, so you'll have a hard time getting rid of the parts. If this is a 544 gas, $1500 is about 3 times of what a good block should sell for.
