I had a similar problem yesterday with cub. I filled the gap with babbit. Heated all parts with a oxy/ac torch, temporarily sealed the gaps with bent steel rod, melted the lead/zink and poured the babbit into the gap. After it cooled I filed it smooth, drilled/taped the oil-hole to take a greese fitting. I did the same on my square baler plunger arm 4,000 bales ago and it still ok.
