The Delco after market distributor was much less expensive than going to IH for an IH original. Those who have them like them very much. Only thing I could see wrong with it, is you do have an extra 90 degree turn in that distributor drive, thus there must be gears in there an IH original wouldn't need. I guess one shouldn't knock that as I've never heard any complaints on that being a problem.

I guess it's just that most vertical distributors we are use to are driven direct from cam shaft rather than through timing and governor drive gears.
