On the C169 (300U) distributor mounting base with tach drive, what lubrication should be applied to the gears inside (the dist shaft and tach plastic pinion)? Or should it be kept dry until it fills with oil? Looks like there is an open oil hole that fills the housing up and keeps it lubed. Also, the tach drive pinion has no o ring on its shaft (its plastic and has no groove for one),if this housing fills with oil, wont that gear leak oil and fill the tach cable up? Or was that the original idea?
