DM: The three terminal "regulator" you have is NOT a regulator but it IS a cut-out. Check the wiring diagram for the cut-out. That should solve your problem. If you look at Page 12 of the Blue Ribbon Service Manual - GSS-1012 - Electrical on the server, you will see the Principles of Operation for the Cut-out relay. It shows clearly that the cut-out is only a 3 terminal device. This might be a little clearer. Unfortunately, I am kind of electrically challenged. If I could go to the shop, I could check Ellie but I cannot for the next few weeks yet. However, if BigDog or Jim Becker see this post, they will be able to help further should you need it. Check out the GSS-1012 first though. That will probably be all you need. And remember - a cut-out is the Original Equipment pre-1950 I think. Both my 47 and 48 have them. My 51 has a regulator.
