If I were you, I would take that shaft to a well known machine shop that's known for doing good maching to have it measured and make sure that it isn't worn egg-shaped. They can mike it very quickly and tell you if the shaft still measures
standard or is worn undersize. It may just need polishing if no maching is required. They can also supply you with undersize bearings if it is needed.

You should have that engine block degreased and have new cam bearings installed and inspect and measure that camshaft for wear. This is so you have good oil pressure when the engine is reassembled. Hal
