Drain the oil, replace the filter(s) first. If it still whines, all you are out is the price of the oil. My 460 does the same thing, it is completely disassembled at the moment, won't know until I get it back together again whether the new fluid and filters helped -- don't see anything else wrong. The gears in your pump could have the clearance wrong, but I'm not familiar with the 06 series.
