When I built the engine on my '49 cub, I vaselined the gears in the oil pump before assembly. When we tried to start it, it had no fire, but the oil pressure came up with the starter. Let it sit about a month while rebuilding the mag, went back out, it started, but no pressure. Took the allen head plug out, filled it with oil and it came right up. Had great pressure ever since(1 1/2 years) Kevin
