Hi Dick, I never heard of anything happening to the martins like what we had. That martin house was so nice. We made it in where I worked when work was slack, working on it was joint effort by my co-workers. Everyone wanted to help. I loaned the plans to a supervisor in another department so he could build a house. I think the martin house was so tight and being 3 stories high the rain water could not drain is what caused this. I bought a fiberglass and several metal houses, but never had any birds to build nests. The early birds would arrive and look over the houses and then they left. Seems like they sensed that something had occurred here. I still have those plans if someone wants to build a martin house. Once you have them you won't forget them. They will make short work of the mosquitoes in your area. I mowed grass with the birds sitting on the house and they just looked down and watched. Hal
