Had a guy once that came to me looken for a 1066 and i told him that i had one that i had not got home yet but would go and get it if he wanted and told him that 8500 would get the job done and it was a go to the field tractor with under 3500 hours he told me i was crazy well he bought one at a sale for 4750 then called me to put a clutch and T/A in it ok i can do that well when we tore it down we found that all the gears in the speed trans and both topand bottom shafts and all bearing were shot then we started looken at the range trans and reverse was missen three teeth and bearing gone and this was bad and that was wore out ended up rebuilding that tractor from the ft, end to the PTO and everything in between and by the time the new tires and paint job went on my buddy and i figured that he had just short of 20000 in that 1066 but it did look nice and run like a new one. Best to find one that needs a T/A and clutch and a paint job reather then a junk one and try to make something out of it.
