You have to paint the starter green, but JD doesn't make the batteries anyway. The guy that did my 460 rocker arms has a 560D, he has a couple of the 12 volt optima batteries, claims it is 24 volt using a 12 volt starter and solenoid, then it operates on 12 volts -- post on this a few days ago, what he said may contradict part of that post, I plead ignorance. In other words you should be fine.
