Martin: I used to do hayrides and sleighrides, but that was 30 years ago. Today I wouldn't touch it, liability risk is just too great. Even 30 years ago insurance companies were very sticky when came to people around tractors. I doubt if that has improved. I think you will find most insurance companies have an out clause if your using tractor for work other than it was intended for. One of the problems I encountered near the end of my doing hayrides, people wouldn't stay put. They thought it sport to be jumping on and off. I know a guy who lost his farm, as insurance said he wasn't covered for hayrides. Drunk driver ran into back of hayride, a week later the wife of a lawyer on hayride developed back problems. These people were members of a club the farmer belonged to. He was not in the business of hayrides, it was a one time event on a private road, a road he was assured was blocked to all other traffic. By the way, the drunk had no assetts, not even a drivers licence.

On closer examination (and some reading in a AC D-14 service manual), I found out that this is a pretty ingenious method of cleaning the air in the tractor's intake tract.
