It can be replaced -- don't use one off another Cub, the numbers won't match. Although the chassis and engine serials don't have to match on a Cub, most of the cast parts have dated casting codes on them, unless you can find a tag that more or less matches those codes, you will be misrepesenting the tractor if you ever sell it (they won't send you to prison, though).
