Hello, Thanks for the word about the 584. Does that have a D239 in it? These cracks are pretty bad in this one. They run from the very top of the block all the way down to the main bearing and are pretty wide, though pretty might be the wrong word here. The crack seems to have gotten to the oil passage to the main bearing as there is water easing around the mains when pressure is applied. I have never seen one this bad. I believe the fellow that had it before me left it over two or three winters with just water in it. The head though appears undamaged. I believe the water level may have been below the head. If I had the time I would surely get a used block as the rest of the tractor seems sound. I have another one to fix up and can only have so many tractors, even if they are all red!
