Hello, I have a Chrysler ind engine in a forklift that does the same thing. The intake valve idea is something I haven't checked but sounds like a good idea. If you run it very long with the choke out be sure to keep an eye on the oil and make sure too much gas is not getting into the oil. The oil will get thin and not lubricate. Good Luck, YC
