Be sure that battery is fully charged. Make sure
you've got good, clean and tight battery connections. If this is still a 6 volt postive
ground system, be sure to fasten the negative cable from the battery to the starter and ground the positive cable to a clean place with no paint
on the tractor. You can do this before you install the starter on the tractor and just short across the starter solenoid. Be careful doing this because that bendix drive will energize in a second if it is working right. Keep your fingers away from that starter gear. Hal
