Best PS Pump for farmall A CHEVY??

The guy who is putting the blade on are A got a ps pump to run the hydraulics. But the pump warms up fast then it won't lift anymore, cause it makes the oil to thin. I have heard that Chevy ps pumps work the best. Is this right? Now i don't know anything about ps pumps, Is there different sizes you can get? Also, does it matter if you run it of the pto or belt pulley? It is running on the belt pulley.
