Mine did the two gear thing when I was shifting from road gear to low,it locked up in the middle of the road.That was no fun at all.It would not budge,but the engine would start with clutch in.Luckily a more seasoned gent from across the road,happened to be visiting and told me exactly what Bob said earlier about the shifter.My H Had a little cap on each side(like a tiny freeze plug)of the shifter where it pivots.when removed then you can tap the shifter pin out with a small punch.I inadvertently shrank the cap,by using a punch about half the size of the cap and tapping it a few times in the center.Then I picked the plug out with a pocket knife.after that it was tap the pin thru,align the slots,and put it together and drive.btw I "unshrank"the cap by turning it over and using punch to flatten it back.You may know this already but it may help someone in the future.Good luck!
