706 update!

Well, tomorrow is the big day to fire up the 706 after a major overhaul. I'm trying to get my thoughts into making sure nothing will go wrong. Ive got the oil system primed up, 94 octane gas, valves at .025 cold for now, Antifreeze, carb rebuilt, rebuilt the distributor, new cap points coil, I think I got all of the bases covered, everything looks good, it turns over pretty decent. Ive been told by someone on here that the initial start up after a rebuild on these gas engines are a bit different, and the break in procedure should be a bit more precise. I thought I would fire it up, get it close, and then 1/4 throttle for 10 mins, then 1/2 for another 10, then 3/4 for 30 mins if everything checks out ok. Then retorque the head, and reset the valve lash. Run it again for another 10 mins at 1/2 throttle, change the oil. I have a dyno, and I intend on putting the 706 on it to finish breaking it in. If everything checks out ok and If my plan seems to be usable, should I put it on the dyno right away, or give it more running time with no load. Also, on setting the timing,,, Should I set it while it has a load on the engine, or go by the book? Ive also heard they are finiky on where it likes its timing set at. Any info would be great, and Im so glad that it will be up and running again and not collecting dust in the corner of the shop! My next project is installing a M&W stroker in a 450 Farmall!
