I saw an experienced hydraulic rebuilder use JB weld so I started using it with good results. I clean the spot with acetone, wipe it clean, use my propane torch to burn off any residue then wipe on the JB with a smooth rounded applicator. I sand it down a bit with 1000 grit sandpaper after 24 hrs. I used it on my Wagner backhoe 5 year ago and nothing has popped loose and didn't seem to damage the wiper or o-rings.
