I just posted this question yesterday and have not recieved an answer yet...I have two that did this. When the first went we parked it. When the second went we found out that any cub used on rough terrain did this. I made a brace that consisted of two large size angle iron pieces and a threaded rod. I put the angle iron on the cultivator housing and the clutch housing and the rod between. I tightened it until the crack closed and a tad more. We ran it like that for another 8 or 9 years. I just did a full overhaul and had it welded. The new brace goes from the clutch housing side (where implements bolt on) and has a piece of flat stock 3/8" thick and stops about 1/8" short of where the motor and front end bolt together. Put a piece of angle iron onto the flat stock and trim for the water line. Remember, it is best to make the gap too big and use washers for the right fit. You want the bar to take the load so be sure to leave it a bit short. Mine is working great. I might be able to send a picture if you want. Also been told INTERNATIONAL cubs (not Farmall) had these braces as an option, but never seen one.....what a mouth full!! let me know if this helps...p
