I wish I had seen your original post earlier.If you are changing the seals behind the brake drum,correct me if I am wrong,but you dont have to do all that work to change the seals.Drill two or three small holes in the old seal,get a self tapping screw and screw into the holes.The wiht a pair of pliers or vise grips or whatever you choose to use,pull on the seal one screw at at time until the seal comes out.I have also been able to pry against the head of the screws and got them out.Ive done it quite a few times.
